so long 2011 and thanks for all the fish

July: summer vacation on Pico island

 my little brother who took all my photos during the summer, sorry for smiling like a dork again

 up at the lagoas near the tip of Pico mountain, the scenery was hauntingly beautiful 

 I had the opportunity to observe some traditional Azorean bullfights and accidentally participate in one when one of the bulls jumped in the area where the people were watching. Luckily, no one got hurt, but it was the biggest rush of my life. You can ask me more about it here if you like, it was pretty eventful, or if you have any other wildly inappropriate questions, bring it on.

In case you are not a Hitchhiker's Guide through the Galaxy fan, the title is from the song the dolphins sang as they left Earth to avoid the end of the world, which, coincidentally, has delayed 2 days. So unexpected. I'm very exited that that dreadful 2011 is gone and I hope it never comes back again. It wasn't a good year at all... both economically and psychologically.
It started out ok and my trip to the Azores was wonderful, but then I had to come back to Greece and the crisis and the trash, it was such a huge difference to the nirvana of the islands. A lot of stressful issues and making the stupidest mistake possible -dying my hair- my only slightly attractive feature deemed this year a massive #fail. (Promise I'll stop moping now). But I'm a die hard optimist so I'm pretty convinced 2012 will be waaaaay better,  you'll see... Now try reading this again with a british accent and I swear it actually sounds intelligent.
It wasn't all bad though, I traveled, made lots of new friends, learned about a soon-to-be new arrival in my family, became a t-shirt for Zara, so many new amazing people started visiting my silly little blog, you rock, really, you rock so much I want to write a song for you. I wish to you all a glorious new year, may the poles stop melting and the hungry start eating and zombies never take over the planet. Cheers.
